Public participation is KEY – We need your input!

The City of Rio Vista seeks public input from residents, business and property owners, and stakeholders through community workshops, website comments and surveys, and a General Plan Working Group Committee.

Community Workshops

Community workshop meetings, held at various stages of the planning process, give the community an opportunity to learn about the project, provide input, and achieve a general consensus and vision for the future of the City. Your feedback and evaluation of concepts and recommendations is essential.

Community members can get involved in the creation of the General Plan by providing local insights, feedback, and comments during the following Community Workshops:

General Plan Working Group (GPWG)

During its August 3, 2021, regular meeting the City Council discussed options for completing a comprehensive update of the City of Rio Vista General Plan. Based on the age of the current General Plan (adopted in 2001), the growth of the community that has occurred over the past 20 years, and the numerous changes to State law regarding the required content of the General Plan, the City Council determined an update of the General Plan is appropriate and required.

A General Plan Working Group (GPWG) of approximately seven persons was established that will include City Council members, Planning Commissioners, and members of the public.
